Prevention and Wellness: Bringing Substance Abuse Prevention into the Health Reform Discussion The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and its Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) will convene its 6th Annual Community Prevention Day, entitled Prevention and Wellness: Bringing Substance Abuse Prevention into the Health Reform Discussion on Monday, February 8, 2010. This all-day event will be held at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in conjunction with the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s (CADCA's) 20th Annual National Leadership Forum (February 9-11, 2010). There is NO COST to attend this event, but REGISTRATION is required. This year’s Community Prevention

BackgroundThis year’s annual gathering presents a unique opportunity for participants to be involved in an interactive dialogue on creating a national culture of prevention and wellness around mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. Participants include CSAP grantees; members of CSAP’s National Advisory Council; members of the National Prevention Network; CSAP Fellows; substance abuse prevention professionals; coalition leaders; members of CSAP’s Centers for the Application of Prevention Technology and associated Regional Expert Teams; and many more. Participants will engage in information exchange, receive training and technical assistance specific to their work in substance abuse prevention, and take part in 75-minute skills-building workshops to develop strategic organizational skills.
