Description: The ICCPUD is composed of 14 Federal agencies that have been charged by the Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking (STOP) Act with “guiding policy and program development across the Federal Government with respect to underage drinking.” This workshop will present a brief overview of ICCPUD agency activities and support for underage drinking prevention at the community level.

improves scores in each section of a grant, including the Needs,Approach, Evaluation,
Organizational Description and Budget Sections; (3) Learn how to analyze procurement
notices from multiple funding sources to determine if they should respond to
an RFP or not

Juvenile Drug Courts: Building the Model

Description: Provide the audience with information on OJJDP’s Juvenile Drug Court program with emphasis on the growing partnership with the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The presenter(s) will describe the juvenile drug court, its history, and challenges. The presenter will briefly describe the sixteen (16) strategies that are used in developing and maintaining juvenile drug courts. Presenter will briefly describe OJJDP’s current performance measures for success. However, the focus of the workshop will be on how OJJDP is providing support (monetary and training and TA) to jurisdictions across the country to enhance the capacity of juvenile drug court programs. The theme of the presentation will be “recognizing strengths and weaknesses, and building partnerships.”
The presenter will discuss how OJJDP is building the juvenile drug court program model through its partnerships with the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment HHS/SAMHSA) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (which supports the Reclaiming Futures National Program). This public/private partnership is addressing the many challenges of the juvenile drug court, i.e., adequate screening and assessments, best treatment practices, need for systems change, team building, etc. New initiatives are currently being developed to address the need for support services, i.e. mentoring, etc.
